On Thursday, September 15, 2016, retired NASA astronaut Captain Scott Kelly visited Trinity University‘s Laurie Auditorium in San Antonio, Texas, to deliver the 2016 Fall Distinguished Lecture, “The Sky is Not the Limit – Lessons from a Year in Space.”
The Distinguished Lecture series has been ongoing for the past 37 years thanks to an endowment from the Walter F. Brown family of San Antonio.
The lecture was free and open to the public with seating available on a first come, first seated basis. Doors to the auditorium opened at 6:30pm and the event began shortly after 7:30pm to a near-capacity crowd. My 9-year-old daughter and I were in attendance and we both greatly enjoyed Captain Kelly’s engaging talk.
My Soundcloud recording of Captain Kelly’s talk includes the full audio of the evening, including Trinity University President Danny Anderson’s (@TU_President19) introduction of Scott. The last few student and community members’ questions were inadvertently clipped from the end of the Soundcloud recording, but you can catch them on my archived Facebook Live stream of the event.
